Server Rack Builder
The Server Rack Builder brings complete rack planning into Matrix42. Racks are drawn to scale with front and rear view, devices are placed by drag & drop from a palette fed by your Matrix42 assets, and colour-coded categories keep every rack readable at a glance. Finished layouts can be exported as PNG or SVG for your data-centre documentation – no external tools, no duplicate data.
Overview
The illustration shows the main areas of the Server Rack Builder:
- Categories for quickly adding specific device types
- When a device is dragged into the rack, its category is pre-filled automatically.
- The categories can easily be extended.
- List of assets in Matrix42
- Assets are automatically assigned to the categories based on their SKU type – this mapping can also easily be adjusted and extended.
- When an asset is dragged into the rack, it is linked automatically and its category is pre-filled.
- Undo/redo buttons
- Rack view
- Rack height input
- Settings of a rack entry
- Name, linked asset, category, height, position, depth and colour
- Height and position can also be adjusted via drag & drop directly in the rack view.
